Workforce

Workforce

TIAO works to support a stable, skilled, and resilient tourism workforce across Ontario. We advocate for solutions that address labour shortages, improve job quality, and reduce barriers such as housing, mobility, and career development. By collaborating with industry, government, and education partners, we aim to strengthen workforce pathways and position tourism careers as meaningful, sustainable, and inclusive.

Help Connect the Next Generation to Careers in Tourism

TIAO is inviting tourism partners across Ontario to take part in a new initiative developed with myBlueprint, a career-planning platform used by more than 60 school boards and students in Grades 7 through 12.

Through a centralized directory, tourism organizations can share opportunities that help students explore the people, skills and career pathways that power Ontario’s visitor economy. These may include guest speaking, field trips, workplace tours, co-op placements, Specialist High Skills Major experiences, site visits, seasonal employment and other forms of career-connected learning.

Adding your organization does not mean committing to every opportunity. It simply gives educators an accurate contact they can reach when a suitable opportunity arises.

By participating, your organization can help increase awareness of tourism careers, strengthen connections with local schools and communities, and inspire the next generation of tourism professionals.

Complete the form below to add your organization to the directory and share how you can support student learning and career exploration.
