Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Events Manager, the Events Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of client events from contract handoff through event completion and settlement. This position plays a critical role in ensuring exceptional client experiences while coordinating seamless event operations across multiple departments.

The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, is highly organized and detail-oriented, and enjoys balancing multiple priorities while providing exceptional customer service.


What You'll Do


Event Planning & Coordination

  • Manage client events following contract execution by the Sales Team
  • Create and maintain accurate event orders and event details within the event management system
  • Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, room setups, catering, audiovisual requirements, and on-site operations
  • Prepare floor plans in accordance with operational standards and guidelines
  • Ensure timely communication of event information and updates across all departments
  • Monitor event timelines and ensure all event requirements are executed successfully



Client Relations & Service Excellence

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the event planning process
  • Communicate event policies, procedures, and facility requirements
  • Respond to client inquiries and resolve concerns professionally and promptly
  • Coordinate with vendors, partners, and service providers to support successful event delivery
  • Support on-site event operations and ensure client expectations are exceeded
  • Manage settlement, billing, and invoicing for ticketed and non-ticketed events



Team Collaboration & Operational Support

  • Collaborate closely with the Events team other internal departments to ensure event success
  • Promote ancillary services and food and beverage offerings to clients
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, and the overall client experience
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused culture
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Diploma or post-secondary education in Business, Hospitality, Tourism, or Event Management preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of event coordination or event management experience
  • Hospitality, tourism, convention centre, venue, or hotel experience required
  • CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) designation considered an asset
  • Experience with event management software and financial processes preferred


Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Experience with Momentus or similar event management systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Professional demeanor with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and accountability skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required
