Indigenous Art and Culture Awareness Week: Tandem Exhibition - MCC Gallery of Indigenous Art

Midland Cultural Centre
Arts & Culture, Cultural Fair, Midland, Heart Of Georgian Bay

The Midland Cultural Centre Gallery of Indigenous Art is a welcoming space dedicated to celebrating and sharing Indigenous art, culture, and storytelling. Through rotating exhibitions featuring contemporary and traditional works by Indigenous artists, the gallery offers visitors an opportunity to engage with diverse artistic perspectives and cultural experiences. Located within the Midland Cultural Centre, the gallery encourages community connection, learning, and appreciation for Indigenous creativity and voices. Indigenous Art and Culture Awareness Week is an initiative featuring various organizations within North Simcoe who wish to highlight the work of Indigenous creatives through various mediums, such as dance, food, literature, music, visual arts, and crafts. Since its inception, the goal of Indigenous Art and Culture Awareness Week has been to promote and preserve Indigenous traditions, stories, and practices. This community-driven project creates authentic experiences, most of which are free, for residents and visitors to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of Indigenous art and culture in North Simcoe.
